George Blow lived in Grimsby, enlisted 7.9.1914, landed France 10.9.1915, served with 8th Bn, received gun shot wounds to right knee and head during the Battalion’s attack near Fricourt on 1st July 1916, evacuated to England 4.7.1916, discharged 14.6.1918 and issued Silver War Badge No B399968. A first day of the Somme casualty. Born Withern near Louth and lived 11, Willow Cottages, of Garden Street, Grimsby. A customs assistant.
