1939-45 Star, Italy Star, War Medal 4470472 Private E. W. Meek, Durham Light Infantry

Killed in Italy during the crossing of the Gariglando River, Minturno, buried in Minturno War Cemetery. The allies invaded the Italian mainland on 3.9.1943 and Ernest was killed 7 weeks later. Sold with original condolence  slip to Private E. W. Meek and medal box addressed to Mrs. S. Meek, 11 Chaucer Avenue, Brambles Farm, Middlesbrough his mother.
