Ernest William Blenkiron (Blenkison) attested to the Hussars/Cavalry of the line on the 12th February 1916 aged 19. His occupation was given as a railway porter with the N.E.R. He was transferred to the East Yorkshire Regiment during Nov/Dec 1916.

Killed in action 22nd May 1917 aged 20 whilst raiding Curley, Charlie & Cash trenches. He is remembered with honour Arras Memorial. France. He was born in Whitby.
