Killed in Action 24th April 1917 Aged 40. Remembered with Honour Arras Memorial. Pte Pattison was killed attacking Bayonet trench with B Company. A full account of which can be found on pages 212 & 213 of The East Yorkshire Regiment in The Great War by Everard Wyrall. Also, in the 7th batt war diaries it is stated that during this action the following casualties occurred officers 1killed 3 wounded, other ranks: 27 killed & 130 wounded. John Pattison was born in 1877 in South Shields.
