Born 1874 in North Stoke, Wallingford, Oxfordshire and enlisted 14.10.1892 age 18 years, 3 months, trade a carter. Served Bermuda, Halifax, West Indies, and South Africa 01 1899 to 26.9.1892. Severe bullet wound to the thigh at Nthsvaal River 7.8.1900. Discharged after 12 years’ service 14.10.1904. Re-enlisted in the Royal Berkshire and served in France 29.11.1914. He also served in the Labour Corps No. 440669 and was discharged to class Z 3.6.1919.
