This book is about the memories of the area and are reflected in this account by the author and personal experiences of many local people. The author grew up in war-time Hull and his account is wide ranging, dealing with the domestic aspect of the Home front and the service given to the defence of the community by so many civilians in their spare time. It also deals briefly with the coastal defences and the regiments stationed locally and includes some amusing anecdotes.
