This extremely rare and interesting Franco-Prussian War Humanitarian award group to a well-connected French Woman married to an British Naval Officer
Mrs Otway Inglefield was born Henrietta Malvina “Nina” Thiebault in 1823, daughter of Baron Thiebault. She married Rear-Admiral Valentine Otway Inglefield 10th June 1852 at Ile-de-France, Paris. Her father Paul-Adolphe Dieudonné Thiébault (1797-1875) was a French Army Officer of interesting Napoleonic lineage.
Their son – Lieut.-Colonel Francis Seymour CB, DSO was awarded the DSO in the Anglo Boer War and served later in the Great War , was born 6 Dec’1 55, at Devonport, son of Rear-Admiral Valentine Otway Inglefield, and Mrs. Inglefield, daughter of Baron Thiebault.
