Appointed 2nd Lieutenant 29.9.1914 from Special Reserve, landed France with 1st Life Guards 30.11.1914, promoted Lieutenant 9.5.1915, Temporary Captain 12.1.1916 while commanding a Section of Divisional Ammunition Column, Captain 12.6.1916 with Royal Garrison Artillery later Acting Major, address on M.I.C Caerleon, Monmouthshire. Purchased from an auction where it was sold on behalf of the family, never been on the market.
