Sub- Lieutenant Fred Wilde had seen service in France with the H.A.C. with 2A battery as Corporal, transferring to the R.N.R. being commissioned 13.12.1917.
He was killed when H.M.S. Rhododendron was attacked and sunk by a torpedo from the U70 off Orkney on 5th May 1918.
He was the son of James and May Wilde of Exeter and husband of Helen Barbara Wilde of Okehampton, Devon.
