Commander Andrew S Mills, born 26.9.1853, was appointed as Naval Cadet on 9 April 1867 and was promoted to Sub-Lieutenant on 2 January 1873. He served aboard the hospital ship H.M.S. Simoom during the Ashantee Campaign, medal, and clasp Coomassie and then aboard H.M.S. Conquest between 1876-7 during the 8-month blockade of Dahomey. He was promoted to Lieutenant on 27 February 1879 and served aboard H.M.S. Salamis in Egypt during 1882. He afterwards served in the Coast Guard as Commander (retired) on 26 September 1898. He later received a Greenwich Hospital Pension. Born 26.9.1853.
