Served France from 13.8.1915 and was awarded a Military medal whilst serving with the 2/Royal Sussex Regiment. L.G. 23.7.1919 (Lambeth).
This gazette was a major France and Flanders gazette, many awarded for the last big attack 4.11.1918, battle of Sambrai.
He served with the 8th and 2nd Royal Sussex, Royal Munster Fusiliers and latterly East Lancs (number 7211953).
He was admitted to number 34 clearing station a gunshot wound to his thigh and head 3.7.1916. he was transferred from the Munsters and now serving in the depot of the East Lancs A.O. 20 of 1919 dated 18.3.1926.
