Afghanistan Medal 1878-1880, no clasp. 890 Private A. Spurgeon, 78th Foot Fine

Arthur Spurgeon was born in Norwich. He was a Tailor by occupation, he enlisted at Great Yarmouth on 13th February 1877. Posted to the 78th Highlanders in October 1878. He served with them in India and Afghanistan. He was awarded the Afghanistan medal without clasp and India General Service Medal with clasp ‘Hazara 1888’. He was discharged on 14th September 1895.
