Born Ripley, Abersford, Hampshire in 1836 and enlisted 30.11.1854 age 18 years 8 months. He served 71 days in the Crimea being discharged 29.9. 1855 having served a total of 1 year 33 days. He went to live in Winchester.

 May have been a slightly later claim as the claw is more like a Mutiny claw or replaced at a later date.
