M.M. London Gazette 21st October 1918, this gazette covers awards for minor actions across the whole of France including 27th May 1918. The previous owner thinks it was awarded for a trench raid in which Lieutenant Wright was killed and three young members were left to guard the body whilst the other members of the patrol took the prisoners back to headquarters. Albert had previous service in the Mercantile Marine before transferring to the Liverpool regiment and later the 1/West Yorks. Awarded the Mercantile Marine medal and a WW1 pair along with the Military Medal. He was born 21.10.1899 in Liverpool, Father Alexander Porte a police officer.
