David first saw service France 8 Flanders and landed 1.11.1914, wounded 9.5.1915. He was discharge for re-enlistment in the 51st battalion machine Gun Corps in which he was serving when he died of wounds 26.10.1918 due to a gunshot wound to the back and head.
His Military medal was gazetted 13.9.1918. This was awarded for miscellaneous minor operations. He had been admitted to hospital 2.4.1917 having suffered wounds caused by the collapse of a cellar roof. He was a native of Brechin, Scotland.
