M.I.D. Cameroon 1.1.1916 whilst serving on H.M.S. Challenger.
M.S.M. GV1 28.2.1951 onwards.
Born Stonehouse, Plymouth 27.8.1888, trade a French polisher, enlisted 27.11.1907 London age 19 years, 4 months.
Re-engaged 11.9.1919, serving on various ships and bases, including Cumberland, Challenger, Astraea, in which May 1915 replaced Challenger and supported the invasion of the Cameroons. His conduct was V.G.-Sat.-Sup- throughout.
Noted in the wating list of candidates for M.S.M and annuity 27.11.1928. Discharged 27.11.1828 and joined the R.F.R. Discharged from the R.F.R. 26.7.1938 having attained the age of 50 years.
Royal Marine Plymouth division (Mob) 26.8.1939 to 2.5.1941 when discharged as physically unfit for R.M. service.
Confirmed in ‘Irreproachable Character’ by the Late John Bilcliffe as entitled to a 1914-15 trio and may also be entitled to a Defence Medal.
