The schooner Nordkap of Fowey was in distress in the Atlantic on 13th March, 1891. After putting out one boat which was stove in, the London steamship Mosser put out the starboard boat which then rescued the crew of the Nordkap. One silver ‘Humanity’ medal; one silver ‘Gallantry’ medal, and five bronze ‘Gallantry’ medals with £2 gratuity were awarded for this rescue. Alfred Nichols was Boatswain of the S.S. Mosser.Ex W. H.
