James Lock served in No. 6 troop at Waterloo and was discharged on 9 January 1817. The regiment took part in the battle Quatre Bras on June 16th but did form part of the rear-guard covering the retreat to Mont St. Jean, casualties were high with 104 men wounded and 43 killed.
