Waterloo Medal 1815 With original steel clip and ring suspension. George Turner, 23rd Light Dragoons
George Turner is confirmed on the medal roll as having served in Captain P. L. Cox’s Troop No. 6. At Waterloo, on June 18th, 1815 the regiment was commanded by Lieutenant Colonel the Earl of Portington. It lost 77 men killed. Wounded and missing during the battle. At the end of the day a group of the 23rd escorted the wounded earl of Uxbridge from the field. A nice example.
