Archibald was born in 1795 in the parish of Donsghendry, Stewars Town, Co. Tyrone and enlisted age 16 years 16.11.1811.
He served for 25 years 188 days including 2 years for Waterloo. Serving in Belgium, Holland, and France for 4 years 11 months. Gibraltar 7 years 8 months was engaged with some of the French shipping off Fort Frederick in Holland and the Battle of Waterloo serving in Captain and Battery Major Rogers Company.
The remainder of service at home discharged 7.4.1835. Retired to Donaghendry, Co. Tyrone.
