Description

He attested for the Middlesex Regiment at High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire, and served with the 11th Battalion during the Great War on the Western Front from 31 May 1915. Transferring to the Machine Gun Corps, he was awarded the Military Medal whilst serving as a Private with No. 36 Company; and the Second Award Bar whilst serving as a Sergeant with the 41st Battalion.
