M.M. London Gazette 23 August 1916. Largely for 28th June 1916 to 23rd July 1916 and appears to be for Somme operations.
M.M. Second Award Bar London Gazette 19 February 1917. This Gazette effectively ends the last of the later awards for the Somme covering 1st July to 10th December.
He attested for the Middlesex Regiment and served with the 4th Battalion during the Great War on the Western Front from 14 August 1914 (also entitled to a 1914 Star with clasp).
The war diaries might prove to be fruitful. His 1914 star may be out there somewhere.
